Dolphins have always awakened the imagination and a certain fascination of people, from ancient times to the present day, due to the beliefs and myths created through characters such as the narwhal dolphin that lives in Arctic watersAlthough they have 80 to 100 teeth, dolphins swallow their food without chewing. The whole digestion process takes place in the stomach. The size and weight of dolphins vary greatly from species to species. Some dolphins of the Ziphiidae family have only 2 teeth, due to the fact that they specialize in the capture of squid, and therefore the teeth only serve as a hook for food fixation and later ingestion. Dolphin females spend 10 to 11 months in gestation. The puppies are breastfed for approximately 14 months.
